Feel free to explore our additional work in the field of “climate resilience”.

Safety and resilience

We research and develop technologies, methods, and concepts to make our society and its infrastructures robust, fault-tolerant, and resilient to hazards.

Climate resilience of the built environment

Building on digital city models, automated, model-based vulnerability analyses are carried out for the existing building stock in urban areas with respect to extreme weather events.

Heuristic resilience analyses

The HERAKLION project is creating a resilience data space to support municipalities in crisis management, such as during floods, through data-driven analyses and decision support.

Resilience of forest stands to extreme wind events

In the FORESEE project, forest stands were analyzed using remote sensing and CFD/FEM flow simulations to assess the impacts of extreme storms on individual trees and stands and to derive targeted measures for increasing forest resilience.

Nature-based solutions for urban resilience

In the European research project NBSInfra, Fraunhofer EMI is investigating how nature-based solutions can enhance the resilience of urban areas to climate-related hazards.
